ประวัติความเป็นมาของวงDark Tranquillity
สำหรับวงDark Tranquillity นี้นะครับ เป็นวงดนตรีmelodic death metal จาก Gothenburg ประเทศสวีเดนนะครับ และถือได้ว่าวงDark Tranquillityนี้ เป็นผู้ให้กำเนิดเพลงแนวmelodic death metal ด้วยเช่นกัน วงDark Tranquillity ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี ค.ศ.1989 โดย Mikael Stanne(vocalist,guitarist) และ Niklas Sundin(guitarist) โดยใช้ชื่อวง Septic Broiler หลังจากนั้นไม่นานก็มีสมาชิกเพิ่มขึ้นมาอีก 3 คน คือ Anders Fridén, Anders Jivarp และ Martin Henriksson

โดยในปี 1990 ได้ออกเทปเพลงเดโมโดยใช้ชื่อว่า Enfeebled Earth แล้วหลังจากนั้นก็เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น Dark Tranquillity และในปี 1993 ก็ได้ออกอัลบั้ม Skydancer ต่อมาไม่นาน Anders Fridén(main vocalist ในตอนนั้น) ก็ได้ออกจากวง และย้ายไปเป็นสมาชิกในวง In Flames(Co-founder, guitarist, และ back-up vocalist) แล้วMikael Stanne, ก็มาเป็น lead vocalist แทน โดยได้ Fredrik Johansson มาเล่นrhythm guitar แทน

และต่อมาก็ได้ออกอัลบั้ม
- The Gallery, Projector และ The Mind's I (ในปี 1993–1999)
- Haven (ในปี 2001)
- Damage Done และ Character (ในปี 2002–2006)
